April 2012

New website launched.

Mike Banks, creator of the fabulous www.recordproduction.com, visited us and took some great photos and video (to be featured in next month’s “Resolution” (www.resolutionmag.com).
If you’re not already familiar with Mike’s site then you should check it out. It features hundreds of video interviews with famous producers and engineers, and loads of studio tours.

March 2012

We had some wonderful musicians performing and demoing the acoustics of the room during the afternoon, followed by a party in the evening.

Thanks to everyone who attended and made it a success, especially all the wonderful musicians (many of whom travelled from all over Europe) - hope you had a great time!

February 2012

We’ve got off to a flying start recording albums for two fantastic singers - from Guyana Jerimiah Marques and from the UK Chad Strentz.

Both used the same group of musicians, and the music was a combination of reggae, ska, jazz, blues, soul and rock ‘n’ roll.

At times we had vocals, piano, drums, double bass, hammond, and two guitars playing live together.

The sessions were recorded to 2-inch analogue tape, and everything (including vocals) was done live.

Two really exciting projects and a great way to launch the studio.

Thanks to all the musicians who travelled from all over, including Mexico, Austria and Germany.

January 2012

Progress is going thick and fast at the studio. We’ve nearly completed audio wiring and are starting to get equipment installed.

If you ever need to move a studio, we can recommend Scott Pulleyn (www.pulleyn.co.uk). His crew managed to relocate our Studer tape machines (which weigh over 180kg) from the top floor of our old studio with finesse!

Huge thanks to Kevin van Green (www.greenandgreenaudio.co.uk) for all his help. Kevin has designed the studio and installed the wiring among many other things – cheers, Kevin!
